An American study has revealed that the web appears to be one of the most commonly used tools for finding news , more than print or radio.
The study was conducted by Pew Internet who wanted to investigate how and where Americans gather the news . The sample consisted of 2259 people and the result was that three quarters, then 75% use the web as a source for news , so that they can then spread through the mail or as a post on social networks, and 52% then use both methods. Hence the explosion of information over the network.
The study shows that while there are few people who only use a single source, 7%, many people are instead, 46%, which decided to use more oiattaforme from four to six, to have news . However, there is to say, and is not a surprise that the place par excellence telezisione remains as a source of news, especially local, in fact 78% of Americans claims to have information from local networks, which are also many. The surprise, as we said earlier, is that the Internet is next: 61% of respondents said to have information from the web . Positioning itself even before the newspapers and on radio.
But if we are given the even more interesting is that there is access to information in relation to new access points: 33% access to news through mobile phones. Many. And also interesting, even more say, is that persons, as many as 37%, who said he helped create the news and share and spread on social media like facebook and twitter . This is where we used to. Moreover, we have witnessed in recent months many examples of the power of such actions, so that the same mainstream media if they are realized. We have seen with the protests of the people in green following the presidential elections in Iran, where twitter was the only instrument where you can have news from Teheran in real time. And these days we are noticing the terrible earthquake in Chile, where Twitter and Facebook are playing a valuable role for those seeking to trace their loved ones, but also for those who want to have news from the crash site.
The web will increasingly access to information. And social media will set the framework in this regard.
